Leadership Development

Having worked in industry for over 20 years I have my share of experiences in what good (and not so good!) leadership development looks like. I have refined my design process now to the point where I can confidently say that I am able to work with any organisation to help diagnose, design, develop, deliver and evaluate programmes for leaders at any level.

I have studied "transfer of learning" in depth and will now only work on assignments where I am able to make genuine, tangible changes to how leaders think and operate. There is a space in the market for "jazz-hands" leadership development, but that's not going to be occupied by me!

I base many of my interventions around something like leadership value chain. Starting at the end, we identify the desired outcomes of any programme; this can be as prescriptive as a percentage increase in sales, as granular as improved net promoter score for a segment of the market, or as intangible as an increase in autonomous decision making.

From there we can talk to the changes that any person in the team, function or division is making in order to deliver these changes.

In order to create these changes we look at the behaviour of the leadership that influence the shifts in global behaviour.

Finally, we work it back to the doorstep of each individual leader to understand their personal development and actions that start this whole chain of events.

This simple, pragmatic process is supported by the design and content of the programme in multiple ways:
